Services SCB wins Raja Bhalendra Singh Trophy
Services Sports Control Board emerged overall champion and winner of the Raja Bhalendra Singh Trophy for the third consecutive time as the competitions of the 35th National Games concluded on Friday.
The only non-State team also had its best ever haul of 91 gold medals, 33 silver and 35 bronze medals, improving upon the 70-50-42 in Ranchi in 2011, although the total medals tally of 159 was 3 short of the 162 won in the previous edition. Ironically, Kerala’s total medals count this year is 162, although it finished only second in the championship with 54 gold. Third was Haryana, with 40 gold.
It was at Guwahati in 2007 that Services had topped the medals tally for the first time finishing with a haul of 59-46-37.
