State Governor to be chief guest at closing ceremony
Governor P. Sathasivam will be the chief guest at the Closing ceremony at the Kariavattom Greenfield Stadium on Saturday.
Public entry will be purely on first-come first served basis for the valedictory function, which will start at 6 in the evening and go on for just over three hours. About 25,000 seats are kept aside for the public. Admission to the stadium begins at 4 pm and will be free.
State Ministers, MPs and MLAs, local body representatives and their families have been assigned space near the Chief Minister’s seat. There is a separate section marked for top bureaucrats and media persons and their families. There are separate sections for sportspersons, Games officials, government officers, military personnel, Kerala University lecturers and students. All of them can access these areas after exhibiting their identity cards and invite cards.
The prime attraction of the event is a dance drama by Shobana. Titled ‘Rivers of India’, the performance about the confluence of streams from all over India will be aided and enhanced by modern technology.
Artistes from all over India will also perform at the function, directed by T.K. Rajeev Kumar. Fireworks and a light show will add to the glitter of the ceremony.
The concluding event will be a performance by artistes from Goa, the host of the next National Games.
